Kurt Stender has worked in criminal defense since 2001. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Political Science from Pacific Lutheran University and his Juris Doctorate degree from Seattle University, where he was a member of the school’s Law Review. Kurt worked as a public defender throughout the greater eastside of King County for approximately two years before transitioning into private practice in downtown Seattle. In 2005, Kurt moved his office to Federal Way where he anticipates building his practice over the foreseeable future.

Throughout his career, Kurt has represented hundreds of people against misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors and felonies. He personally handles all of his own cases from beginning to end ensuring that his clients receive the attention from an experienced trial attorney at every crucial stage. Kurt’s practice places an emphasis on keeping his clients informed as they make some of the most difficult decisions of their lives.

Kurt Stender is a dedicated trial attorney. He has tried over 30 jury trials where he obtained either an acquittal or favorable outcome in the vast majority of those cases. In all other cases, Kurt managed to obtain either a dismissal or negotiate a favorable settlement for his clients.

Kurt is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, King County Bar Association, Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Washington State Trial Lawyers Association and the Federal Way Chamber of Commerce.
